A life spent finding her own voice

Andrea was a quiet, observant child. At the piano she found a language freer than words. She began classical piano at seven, but preferred inventing her own melodies after each lesson.

That movement—from what is held back to what is finally expressed—runs through her music.

From classical studies to improvisation

After twelve years of classical piano, Andrea turned toward improvisation and jazz. She later studied musicology and vocal technique at Complete Vocal Institute in Copenhagen, and wrote her master’s thesis on free improvisation.

Berlin

Building a life around music

In Berlin she played sold-out concerts, toured solo and returned to the piano on stage. Her debut album Andrea kvintett arrived in 2012, followed by the live album Heart of Gold in 2017.
